I want to put some good juju out into the universe.

So in the spirit of providing value to you, regardless of whether or not you’re a client, or ever become one…

I’m going to answer the number one question I get asked as a business coach:

“How do I get more work?”

Wait scratch that…

I can do even better.

Here’s my top 3 strategies to generate more leads fast.

That won’t cost you bucket loads of money*

Are you ready?

Okay here we go.

#1 Baiting

NEWS FLASH…

Your dream customers, jobs, and projects already exist.

All you need to do is simply find where they’re gathering.

For example, if it’s resi work…

I’d search every suburb you service on Facebook and look for groups.

(type ‘notice board’ or ‘community page’)

Then join every single one of them.

You could easily get offers in front of at least 100,000 people in your local area.

That’s what a landscaping client of ours who was frustrated with lead flow did.

We wrote what I call an ‘intro post’ for his local Facebook community groups.

As you can see there’s no spam. No big offer. No crazy advertising…

Just a simple story.

Why?

Because stories sell baby!

He posted this within 11 groups (I’d recommend AT LEAST 20).

Within 7 days he’d quoted over $200,000 worth of new projects.

Total lead value: $200k

Total marketing cost: $0

Return on investment?

TOO HIGH TO CALCULATE.

So think about where your dream customers are gathering.

Find where they ‘hang out’.

Then drop the bait…

#2 Hunting

Who already services your dream clients but isn’t a direct competitor?

If you’re an electrician, this could be:

Plumbers, carpenters, fridgys, gate builders, landscapers, pool builders, cleaners.

You name it.

These are valuable relationships that you need to build in your local network.

Here’s why…

Say they each have 500 clients.

If you 10X your marketing effort that’s 5,000 potential new clients.

But you’ve only had to focus on 10 people.

See how that works?

Small scale could be as simple as cold calling them:

“Hey I see you paint stuff, I build stuff, I think we should know each other” or…

“I’ve found you online and see that you have some fantastic reviews like my company. I may have some clients that are in need of your services and vice versa, would you be interested in getting coffee so I can learn more about how you operate?”

But hold your horses, my ambitious friend!

Higher profile clients on the other hand will require more work.

In those instances, follow this process:

Open dialogue online, send a lumpy mail package, call to book a meeting, nurture each month.

In the package include material that speaks to how you help THEM win.

i.e. answering the ‘why should I care?’ question.

Here’s a sales letter template to get you started:

One of our clients targeted an expert in the property development space following this approach.

Within weeks this relationship pitched him to over 9,000 leads via email.

Eventually putting him as an authority on stage in front of his dream audience.

Becoming a key referral partner that boosts his bottom line.

And how much did this cost?

Yep, you guessed it... $0.

So start hammering the phone and introduce yourself to more people.

Because contacts lead to contracts!

Cross promote, refer and nurture, form a strong alliance.

The more people who know who you are.

The more opportunities will ‘fall into your lap’.

#3 Farming

Sometimes we get so caught up worrying about the next customer…

We forget about the one’s we already have!

If you want more leads, farm your current database.

Whether it’s 100, 500, or 2,000 people…

You can use free software like ‘convert kit’ to broadcast media to existing clients.

If you send an email think:

- Special offers

- Reduced / $0 callout fee

- Reminder/updates

- Bonus x for first 10 jobs booked

- Supplier specials

- Big job delays meaning guys sitting around workshop

- Free inspections

Get creative with it!

You can also follow up on existing quotes.

Make warranty phone calls.

Or if you’re in the commercial space simply ring every contact on your phone list.

Ask if there is anything you can do for them.

i.e. show up. Stay top of mind. And don’t let people forget about you.

While it may seem simple, you’d be shocked at how effective this can be.

I’ve had clients fill their next two weeks within 30 minutes of doing this and it didn’t cost them a cent!

So that’s my top 3 strategies I’d recommend using to fill your pipeline FAST.

Remember, marketing is simply getting more people to know you exist.

The more eyeballs, attention, and frequency.

The more interest and leads you’ll receive.

Meaning it’s a game of inputs and outputs.

Once you’ve established what strategies will get you more attention.

You need to take an unreasonable level of action.

Even when you don’t see the payoff – keep showing up!

Because you’ll be building the momentum.

The greater the volume, the greater the compound effect.

And I guarantee something good will come from it.

So win the moments and stay the course.

My bet is that you’ll move into a higher tax bracket 😉
